Lara Benevides is a Brazilian- Swedish product designer educated at the department of Industrial Design at Konstfack University College of Art, Craft and Design and Design, in Stockholm. She embraces a norm-critical approach, and is particularly interested in everyday things that many of us might take for granted.

 

During her master’s degree, Lara started to focus in creating tangible sensory experiences, most of them food-related. Her aim is to use the power of design to make complex topics more approachable and to enhance the true value of things, contributing to a resilient future.

By connecting with diverse cultures and understanding the context, she unlocks invaluable insights that serve as the driving force behind her creative process. This approach allows her to build a profound connection with the people who will ultimately interact with her designs.

Every project is an opportunity for her to delve into new a chapter, make connections between past and present findings, and, if needed, embrace the art of unlearning. Most of her work takes form as objects and food-related products, although she also engages in installations, curated events, graphic design, and illustrations.
